It's Wednesday and I am Energized to Finish the Week Strong

Updated: Nov 23, 2022

Launching my business's website has been a journey that has had it's ups and downs. I am a full-time working Mom, Wife, Entrepreneur. Sometimes just waking up and getting to be able to shower before I start work is an accomplishment for me. It is important for me to take care of myself and one way I do that is by adding African Ankara to my wardrobe. That is the reason why I started my business, Silhouette Africana. I have a strong passion for African fashion.

When I wasn't able to travel to Nigeria to purchase tailor-made clothing, I used to search the internet and local stores for ready-made African clothes. Disappointingly, the only styles I found were either not my style, made as a one size fits all, or in color palates that didn't inspire me. At times, I would find the perfect dress, but the price stopped me in my tracks.

I have always received compliments on my clothing or I've been asked where I bought them. So, I decided to marry my love of fashion and culture, and create a place where anyone can enjoy curated African clothing for a reasonable price.

I started this business because I have a love of fashion and vibrant colors. I love that fashion allows you to use artistic expression to design a wardrobe that makes you unique. I want to share my love of African clothing with everyone. Simple styles can become fabulous, just by using African Wax Prints.

My goal in this business is to help you find or create outfits using African Wax prints that has all the right elements: style, print design, and price. With ready-made clothes from Silhouette Africana, you can be assured that each dress style was hand-picked by me and sewn to the requirements that I specify.

Today I am celebrating an accomplishment related to my business, Silhouette Africana. Getting my dresses modeled and taking beautiful pictures. What are you celebrating today? Little successes are ok. Moving forward slowly is better than sitting still.
